A modern addition adds space and options to a classic Tudor home
The thick fir treads of the new staircase to the addition “were chosen for one reason,” says architect Jim Burton: “They close the 4-inch gap so you don’t need a riser.” The art here, which previously hung in the “dog room,” is “Petey, like the dog from The Little Rascals,” says homeowner Dan Plumb. “It’s a statement of some kind on Americana.”
